Group Stage Schedule: 6/9 vs Italy, 6/13 vs France, 6/17 vs Romania
Macho’s Take: The Dutch squad boasts a very nice mix of young and veteran talent. Van Nistelrooy seems to have settled differences with Marco Van Basten after not playing as much as he should have in the World Cup, and they will need him up front as he is still one of the best forwards in the world. The surprise decision by Clarence Seedorf to not play in the Euro’s will certainly hurt in midfield, but will give players like van der Vaart, Sneijder, and Van Persie more time in their attacking midfield roles. Obviously, they find themselves in the most difficult group in the Cup and will need to get positive results against Italy and France in their opening games if they want to survive.
